Decided to see how hard/easy it was to make a table out of an engine block. Been wanting to do one for years. I decided to see if I could do it.

WOW! It took 5 minutes to build the rough draft.....

1. After separating the rod caps, I simply slid one rod bolt into a head bolt hole. The other rod bolt just hangs in the lifter valley pan area.
2. The pistons are almost level.... will need some tweaking/leveling to sit flat.
3. Cut some old blue jean grease rags up to keep the glass from getting scratched/nasty from the old carboned up pistons.
4. Added Sunscreen, Bug Spray and a bottle of hootch to the cylinders for effect...... sitting on top of the 2x4 in the crank area to raise them up and out of the bores











My new back porch/deck coffee table....... cylinders hold Bug Spray, Sunscreen and a bottle of wine (only 3.5" diameter bore with the 215 V8).
I'm thinking of adding some LED or low light in the crank area 2x4 "raised floor" for cool lighting effect.
Also, thinking some expanded mesh metal would be a cool table top instead of glass.

The aluminum block is fine, but the steel rods/pistons will need some clear coat to prevent rusting. After a good de-greasing.

I bought a Styrofoam V-8 Kooler with the pistons able to hold 8 cans and when you lift off the intake you can put more down inside the "block" with a freezy pack...
there's a red button where the distributor is supposed to go and when you push on it, "Gentlemen, start your engines" comes on over a tiny speaker
...it was 50 bux, made by the J.A. Pan Co....I think I'd rather have yours!
