Well Wouldn't you Know it...

Postby monzacoupe » Thu Aug 10, 2017 7:21 pm

Wouldn't you know it...I just got my car to a point where it is presentable and driving well enough to take out when I want and then...I go in for my second biopsy on a cyst in my throat!!! It's most likely cancer, so wish me well please. The people on this board have been a PLEASURE to deal with over the years and an almost daily fix of mine for the past 9 years or so. I'm just starting this adventure, but look forward to MANY more years with my coupe.

You people are great!

Rick I would like to Echo the sentiments of those above! And at this point in science I will remind you that "condition" has an EXCELLENT success/survival rate! So do what your doctors say and be positive! Keep your stick on the ice, we're all pulling for you, {it's a Canadian thing}: http://www.redgreen.com/ Remember Humour is the Best Medicine and that guy has a PHD in funny business! Sorry to hear this, my wife recently finished treatment for a similar cancer what a pain but prognosis is good.

Hope your in the stage 1 or 2 and not 3 or 4, do you know your stage yet? either way medical help today can be very effective! 100 years ago, oh boy.

We are all hoping for you to beat this and get back to a normal happy life!

Thanks everyone for the well-wishes. The biopsy is done, the results aren't back yet but the doctor said that he is very sure that it is cancer. Plan for the treatment is coming soon

Hey Rick,
Just reading this and I hafta say that I didn't know this when I met you the other day otherwise I would have wished you all the best in person.
Having said that, I was happy to have made the trip and that I was able to help out another H-Buddy enthusiast by dropping off those alloy rims for you from Harry. :th: ..your Monza looked great running up the road beside my rig as we headed out to the north..I'm hopeful that the rims look good on the car and it was a pleasure to meet you in person. I want to extend mine and Carol's best wishes to you and hope you have a speedy recovery. You seem like a very focused and positive guy so I have no doubt that this will pass quickly for you !
Take care Rick, Ron H. and Carol.

Bit of an update for those interested, Had my throat slit from ear to ear last fall to remove a BUNCH of lymph nodes and move some stuff out of the way of radiation, nine days in hospital! I'm halfway through my stint of chemo/radiation and have no complications that I can't handle!

The lesson I'm taking and telling everyone I can is that this is a cancer caused by a virus! HPV16, the same one that causes cervical cancer in young women, there is a vaccine for it so if you have the ways and means and have daughters or sons that can get the vaccine, 3 shots is EASIER than what I'm going through!

Just my 2 cents!

Thanks for the continuing thoughts and prayers!

Rick

Duly noted about the shots Rick - thanks.

And its sounds like you're ahead of the curve with your cancerous nodes etc so well done, and continued best wishes !

Cheers, Darrin
