No just sand, the army corps of engineers had to put boulders between the beach and the road to keep the road from eroding.
My wife's house( grandparents) where she grew up is just a little aways from us on the ocean, the water has moved up from behind alot in the last 50 years, got damaged in the storm also, half rebuilt in block ( was all wood) currently, owned by her cousin's stepson.
Rincon looks like a place you would like on the west side of the island, cliffs and stuff like surfing. Many gringos are selling their homes over there , reducing the prices by the thousands every month.
