I haven't a clue what it's supposed to look like cuz my car had no tach. Two resistors and two capacitors should be no more than 5 bucks tho.

I'd try about 0.1 microfarad, 50V capacitors. Just a guess on my part, if I had a factory one, I could measure it.

tach

Postby Dannyboy » Fri Jul 27, 2007 3:41 pm

My tach needle "stuck" half way up from Zero
even if you turned off the ignition.
then it moved up slowly when I started the car
then just moved around ghostlike.
but did not respond at all to the engine revs.

 Well that might be a lot of other's symptoms, also,,, :?:  Any one else have a simular type of tach not doing what's it is supposed to :?: .,,, My went to redline stop then back to zero as I turned the Key and started, then sat there doing nothing, but with other tach's that the new owner has no movement at all, Or it just will not work, The internal fix is probaly the one that a lot of us need after a voltage spike thru the tach filter,on it's way out!,,,Thanks Dannyboy,,, Mike

Finally found this one in the red spider it wasn't on the firewall, but hidden along the wiring harness that runs down the rt valve cover.

Well on my 80 spider one of the lead was attached to the tach terminal at the dist the other end to the wiring harness near the alt. I have yet to find it in the 75 skyhawk.
Hey zeke are these filters to protect the tach or only for rfi interferance on the radio ?????
