V8 Alternator mount solutions

Postby marco_1978_spyder » Mon Apr 30, 2007 6:26 pm

Just wondering, are there any easily attainable alternator mounting solutions that will work with the stock pulleys?

I use the corvette cast iron alternator bracket. You have to have a short water pump and it mounts on the drivers side. small block bracket.

I was looking at the corvette mount, and I have one and have it bolted to the head....but I havent mount an alternator in it yet.

I have the trans-dapt front mounts and was wondering if the belt will clear the front mounts.

Other than that if youre usingafactory style mount than its a geat mount...Ive used it on other cars with great success and very little flexing as opposed to flex and shift prone exhaust mounted brackets.

God bless

If anyone has the front mounts and uses the corvette mount please feel free to chime in and tell me that itll work...haha

Corvette/Truck alternator mount

I'm also running the Vette/Truck alternator mount. I have Transdapt mounts and had to "clearance" them a bit. I also had to shim the mount away from the block to miss the Transdapt bracketry. I use a set of Monza pulleys on the water pump and crank and I run a Monza A/C fan. Selection of the fan belt is critical and the whole setup barely misses the radiator. It takes a bit of experimantation to get it all to work.
