Fuel gauge out after front blowout

Postby DustoneGT » Mon Oct 27, 2008 9:57 am

78 Sunbird, 231, auto

Had a blowout in front tire at highway speed, flying rubber bent the drivers side fender a bit. Now fuel gauge dues not work.

All the fuses are OK, but I'm guessing a wire must run near there and got pulled on. Anybody else had this problem before?

Where should I look?

Aside from the wires back at the fuel tank you might want to check the oil pressure sending unit.
EDIT: Oops, my bad, I was thinking fuel pump, I see now you said guage. Only wires I can think of for the guage that are outside the car would be back at the tank.
