I did, to fit my motor plate. Not sure if I have any pics under my project journal or not but I could take some pics if you need some.

what engine mounts do you have? the hooker, transdapt front mount type or monza, don hardy side mounts? i made a alt mount to clear the front mount(hooker, transdapt) but it wasnt a cheap excursion lol.

I'm no help at this point, but I am planing to make my own alt mounts for the passenger side, was thinking of copying some design that looks right from the many that are advertised, Shameless I am.

I have the don hardy mounts also my radiator has both hoses on the pass side.Thats why I would like to put the alt on the driver side
for no upper hose obstruction. I made one yesterday out of 1/8" stainless plate and welded it with 309 stainless rod then bead blasted
it. Turned out pretty good and it mounts lower than ones you can buy. Robert.

I have Don Hardy engine mounts in my 72.

I am using an alternator mounting set up from a 1980 Corvette.

Their are pics of it in My Garage.

that vette 1 looks similar to the 70 chevy truck alt bracket im using on my 68 elco , bolts to the head and uses 1 of the bolts to hold the adjustment arm , mine is cast iron with a stamped metal arm

if i remember right it will still clear the tall valve covers too , bad thing no pics of it though

I'll post a picture in a little bit of mine...it can be use with the trans-dapt/hooker mounts and will mount solely to the cylinder head.

God bless

I bought a 72 truck alt mount and tried it but it sat to high and the belt hit the water pump. The crank only turns the alt
so I fabed this one up mainly for clearence issues.the belt misses the pump and steering box now.

I searched high & low for a Monza bracket to no avail...so I made one based on pics I saw. The upper arch mounts are the universal chrome type available at most auto parts stores. The rest is shadetree fabrication 8)
