instrument panel lamp fuse

Postby 73Vegaguy » Fri Apr 09, 2010 2:37 pm

I was working under the dash and popped the instrument panel light fuse in my '73 Vega. It was a tiny (5/8"-long or AGA) 4-amp fuse. I can't find a 4-amp replacement (I can find 3 or 5-amp). I put in a 3-amp and so far it's holding, but I don't know if I trust it. Does anyone have any of these or know a source for this oddball fuse? Thanks.

Ralph,

I don't have any idea where you might find one. They may not make them in the AGA anymore. Looking at the Cooper-Bussmann web site shows the 4 amp only comes in the AGW which is a 1/4 " longer. This is a PDF file so it may take a little while to load.

That's the same result I had. I guess this size is no longer available except as NOS or used. Obviously it was never a size that saw widespread usage or else it would seem that someone would still be making it. Thanks for checking.
