neutral safety switch

Postby sportster96blk » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:21 pm

my 75 monza was a 4speed originally and now is a automatic. i need to wire in a neutral safety switch on my Hurst quarter stick shifter. i have the old pedal operated one (neutral safety switch)that has 4 wires coming out of it and i need to know what the wires do? two purple#10 wires? two black small wires one with a stripe ? i think i need the purple ones and i'm worried that the new switch on the shifter is to small to handle the power that might go though the purple wires?

Just use the 2 purple wires(purple/white from ignition switch and purple to starter); the other ones aren't on any of my diagrams- I think they might have something to do with the seat belt interlock. If your Hurst shifter has a back up light switch you'll have to find the pink and green wires that used to plug onto the side of the old transmission.
