non polarized capacitors for tach mod

Postby Wizeguyrc » Sun Jan 20, 2013 3:51 pm

I went to Radio Shack today and purchased two 1u 50v capacitors for my tach modification.
The capacitors are non-polarized. My question is, (Spencer..lol), does this mean they can be wired in any direction or can they be used at all?

Thanks

Yes, they can be wired in any direction. They should work in your tach; polarized caps are normally used in D.C. circuits but a tach signal is A.C. so I guess the n.p. caps should be ok
