Orange wire

Postby BBM66 » Tue Oct 08, 2013 1:16 pm

73 Vega, used to be an a/c car. No battery in car yet. There is an orange wire coming from the main harness, out of the firewall plug. From what I've learned, it went to the ac/blower relay. Questions: is this a hot wire and if so, switched or constant? If all I am running is a heater, can I eliminate it? Thanks for input.

Sorry I didn't reply to your PM; I was racing on the weekend and then put in a 12 hour day on Monday. The orange wire on a non A/C car goes to the blower motor; I presume when you remove the A/C relays and unnecessary stuff you should be able to hook it directly to the motor.

No worries Spencer, hope you had a good result at the track! Keep in mind my car WAS an A/C car originally and is wired as such. I have a purple wire that runs to the blower already. So does the orange wire go there too? If so, where does it hook up?
Thanks for the reply!

The purple was from the relay to the blower motor; just eliminate all that mess and hook the orange directly to the motor.
