The schematic is drawn for the engineer's convenience not the end user. Some sections are laid out sensibly just not the main car, it shows the seatbelt reminder buzzer towards the back, etc. As these are the most difficult schematics I have ever used for instance a wire leaves a device and criss crosses all over the place and goes to a connector then the second half of the connector doesn't seem to match up with the first and the "bundle" that crosses the car is broken and the other section of the bundle has the wires in a different order so you have to look at the labeling to make sure you have the 22brdblwtst and not the 22brwtst. I know what you mean Harry.. Those GM "generated" schematics are a nightmare. I work with consumer electronics (I'm an Amateur Radio Operator) on a daily basis and the schematics for that industry are just as bad.. You'd think by now, an electrical schematic would be just a simple roadmap.. I've always said those automotive engineers should have to spend time "on the line" as an ongoing part of their job.. One of the dumbest things to do is put a fusible link inside a wiring harness.. That's an invitation for a fire.
I don't recall the component location info being in the same book with repair procedures or the flow chart information. They (the component locator guide) were a separate publication. I still have a library of service/repair manuals, OEM, Chiltons, Motor, and a few others.. If memory serves me, Chilton was the company that offered the component locator manuals..
Starfire, when you get back to the RWD, let me know and I'll dig out my component locator books and see what they have to say about that inline fuse..
