windshield wiper

Well who ever owned the monza before me did a hack job on my windshield wiper motor .It's now wired with a toggle switch to trun it on and off.The cut and spliced between the yellow wire which is on the fire wall. I think mine is just a 2 speed wiper switch.Any suggestions on how to fix this?I have tried to hookup the splice between the yellow wire to no avail.Thanks Dan
