1976 gt hatch

Postby Zackf24 » Wed Jul 16, 2014 3:58 pm

I have a 76 gt hatch that I got in a deal as a parts car that I decided to fix and drive. I'm working on the fuel pump at the moment and I ran into a solenoid that we have no idea what it does that I need to fix A wire on that goes to nothing. Its on the firewall on the driver side that has 3 terminals on it labeled L B and S. The l terminal is a white wire that i need to hook to something. The b is a black wire that has power from the starter coming to it. And the s is a green wire that goes to a toggle switch under the dash. Does anyone know what its for and where the wires go?

Is it possible it was added for the fuel pump? Picture would help just so we could see if it is stock or not? Lots of Vega cars here so somebody will be able to tell you. Brian

It's an old-school three wire generic relay; often found in fog light kits from the 80's. L-lights(or load), B-battery, S-switch. The metal body of the relay needs to be screwed to metal so it can ground itself. I can only guess as to it's original purpose. Look for signs that something had previously bolted under the front bumper.....
