Hoy,
i have 2 questions about the HEI Distributor 4-pin Ignition Control Module from a 1980 Monza V6 :

I remove the module from the distributor .

1) Is the Heat sink compound really neccesary and is there an alternative ?
2) Can I test the module, and how do you do this ?

actually 4 questions . :D

Today i look into the Monza Shop Manual 1980 and I found this :
1) Is the Heat sink compound really neccesary ?
Yes, this lubricant is important as it aids heat transfer to module cooling .

For the moment nothing for testing the module .

Napa and Autozone have a tester. Providing they know how to use it. Also, run the test at least 5 times, as it gets the module hot. Sometimes the module will be fine cold, but fail once it gets hot.
