It is completely dead- no spark, no anything.

Did you replace(or bypass) the fusible link yet? If that doesn't fix it, you need to get out a meter or test light and check the large red wire on both sides of the bulkhead connector.

You said it cranks and the radio is working, so its not totally dead.

I would check to see if the coil is getting power with the ignition on then also when its cranking.

Because the fuse link burned up when you grounded out a battery hot wire when re-installing the interior.

Oh , I thought it cranks but wont start, I must have missed something.

It should be easy enough to just check for battery voltage and see where it stops, I would start at the battery and follow best you can..like the guys have said it may be a fusable link,

My battery was actually connected to the starter then went off into the fuse box. They are red thicker guage wires.

All is good from the battery to the starter and the coil. I have the fusible link on order and should have it by Monday. Start the checking again once it is in IF it's not 100 degrees like it has been for the last week.

Replaced the fusible link. I had moved a few wires out of the way (still connected just took them loose) to get to the bulkhead connecter, including the large red wire with the black connector in the middle. Went to put everything back when the large red wire on the right side of the black connector came loose from it and touched a piece of metal and sparks started flying!!! I can push it back in but it won't stay. At least I can say I had power to that point- bulkhead connector next? Thoughts?

Sounds like the terminals on main feed wire are burnt; you can(again for "testing" purposes) run a piece of 12 g wire through another grommet to connect the two sides of the bulkhead connector.

7-25-15 Beast Wiring revised.jpg

Who ever owned my Monza before me must have spent a lot of money on electrical tape cause there sure was a lot of it wrapped around my wiring. I was checking it this morning and noticed there were two fusible links close to the bulkhead that I had somehow never noticed. I checked both of them and the rubber casing was intact but found that I could not feel any wires- about an inch and a half on each one. Next move is to replace them and try again. I attached a picture so if anyone has any comments or further advice please let me know. Just want to get my car fixed so I can drive it-

thats how fusible links go unfortunately, they appear ok outside but the wire inside is usually burnt up stopping electrical continuity.

cheers.

Looks like most of my wiring is in worse shape than I thought. I am considering just getting a new harness and get rid of the old wires. If I do what do I need to look for and what all do I need to consider? I have someone who can take out the old and put in the new- thoughts and advice?

I don't think any of the replacement harness manufacturers like Painless or American Autowire make an H-body harness. But one designed for a comparable year Camaro would be pretty close, as things like headlight and ignition switches are the same.
An updated harness would have ATC (plastic blade style) fuses instead of glass, and usually more circuits as well.
