horn contact plate?

Postby Fastmax32168 » Sun Apr 19, 2015 10:44 am

I am a bit confused by what I find inside my steering column and what I find available to repair it. The little "tit" that sticks up from the horn contact plate is broken off. I know on newer style gm columns this "tit" is replaceable and twists in. However in my 77 monza it was a molded in part of the little plastic plate and has broken off. I have not been able to find a plate that looks like the one in mine. I have found a GM horn contact repair kit listed for camaros, chevells etc. that seems to consist of a sleeve and spring that is perhaps pressed into a broken plate? I dunno. Is this what I need? Is there a different plate available like the one we have that I just havent found yet? Does this part require a quest to the well of Biagi?
Thanks

Roy, are you sure you are not looking at the turn signal cancelling cam? The horn parts consist of a spring, a contact and a insulator. The turn signal cancelling cam does have a long tit on it.
