Which Battery?

I am considering buying an Optima battery in the spring for the Monza. As this sits sometimes for more than a month without being touched [I have a small solar charger in it and in the light for now and a little maintainer for when it is inside] and I plan on excessive amounts of electrical goodies when all is said and done, which one should buy and why you think that? I went to their site and I didn't really find any good answers to go by (I think I need an Orange top 1/2 red and 1/2 yellow  ). Please feel free to share your opinions and experience as this looks like a $200US purchase, about $300CAD with exchange and imports costs if purchased in the US and same if purchased in Canada. It will be even more if I go with their charger/maintainer for the better warranty. Thanx Harry

I usually recommend a Yellow Top for deep cycle use(discharged and then recharged like in a drag car without an alternator), or a Red Top with it's superior cold cranking capability for use on high compression(or difficult to start) engines. If you're going to keep a solar charger or a maintainer on it all the time, there's not much use in having the Yellow one. Unless you like sitting in the car for hours without it running and the stereo blasting. lol

Several years ago I saw Optima batteries for sale at Wallmart, although I haven't checked to see if they still sell them.
Canadian tire also sells a spiral wound battery similar to the Optimas, Just be sure to hold onto your receipt for the warranty.

I really want red just for colour co-ordination mostly! I know red Monza how original! Red is less expensive too but at their price you have to get it right the first time. I am appreciating the input. Thanx Guy's! Harry

Been using optima battery's since the early 90s with mostly good results, one red top lasted well over 14 years, the others not as long, leaving the lights on till discharged greatly reduced there lifespan as with any battery my bad.
The 2 yellow top optimas I had where dissapointments in my case, 1 developed a dead cell, the other lost its poop after a # of years sitting mostly unused in a camper
The red top optimas Have for the most part worked well for me and would not hesitate to get another one.
