so i just picked up a 1976 sunbird coupe and has a few problems ... mainly when you turn the key to start it it does nothing.. it has a new starter.. someone has jumped a switch in under the dash that connects the big red wire to the big purple wire to start it with also in the fuse block some one has jumped two male spade terminals together in the middle of the fuse block under the dash not sure whats up with that either. i would like to fix the issue properly.. but not sure where to start key cylinder seems ok.. any help would be great thanks

I'd check the ignition switch output when held in start with a test light and go from there.
