wiring newer fuel sender to vega

Postby 283vega » Sat Feb 26, 2022 2:38 pm

Hey guys, I have modified an 85 buick regal sender with a low-pressure pump to fit my vega tank. My question is , the vega has 3 wires sender, fuel pump, and ground. The new sender has 4 wires sender ,pump and a ground for each. I am thinking I should just combine the grounds as I wire it to the vega harness. Any thoughts? Brian

Brian,

That shouldn't be a concern. The Vega harness just grounds the sender to the chassis at the taillight panel. A larger gauge wire for the ground and the fuel pump wouldn't hurt.

Brian,

Did your sender work ok with your factory gauge? If so did you have a part number?

Thanks, Wade
