NE Ohio, Colin....a looonnng loonnng way from you!

An autocross might be cool, Bill. Except for the hard-core drag racers (whose cars wouldn't work in it well), everyone could do this.

Colin
It's in Ohio, outside Salem.

Bill
I pick my holidays in the late fall the previous year so I'll be trying to pick roughly the same weekend as this years was on.

Hell, I was the slowest on the 1/4 mile, why not be the slowest on the course too, lol.

That would be an entirely different ball game, Bryan. With a light V-6 up front, you might be surprised.

I think it would be fun, although it may require a different meeting place to set up a course.

What are you thinking, Bill? Getting a local SCCA Chapter to set it up for us? Or just set up pylons and do it ourselves against a stopwatch?

There is a racetrack called BeaveRun and it has a long roadcourse and a place for autocrossing. I'll find there website. We could go there then over to Quaker City or what ever. There are hotels near by and it's only about 40 min away from Quaker.

Looks like a great place to run. I wonder what the chances are of us getting on the Big Boys' track?????

What's your thinking, Bill? A two-day event? Friday at BeaveRun, then Saturday at Quaker?

I may be able to do something like that, especially if BeaveRun or Quaker will let me camp overnight. That way I can put the camper on the truck for the trip. Either that, or I can just come over and park in your driveway!

It's probably a good 6-6.5 hour trip for me in my rig.

Reid,

I'm up for a two day event. Friday at BeaveRun and Saturday at Quaker City. We could do a lowest et for both events combined. Lowest time on road course or autocross and lowest et in the 1/4 mile. That would be fun. I can contact them to see if this may be doable. There are hotels close by and it's real close to rt 76/ 80. I'd have no problem letting you park in my driveway, I'd love the chance to talk to you about your car.

I like the idea of the best lap/best run competition...

That would be neat...who will preside? the 12 sec, sikinny front tire drag car? Or the nimble, tuned suspension 15 second corner burner with 225's all the way around?

The thing is....I've got my sights on Lordstown for next year, if there is another car show.

Not sure if I can make 2 trips, but come to think of it....maybe that could give new direction to the black 79 or even the formula....as a handler +mileage miser with an overdrive.

Bring that one one week, then the red spyderoni the next week.....hmmm

Marco,
Yeah, I like the combined ET competition too. It's making me rethink the direction I want to go with my suspension. If there is enough positive feedback I would set it up.

Reid,
I believe Friday is "open track day" so we could go on the big track. I'm going up there on the 29th for the flashlight drags and I'll find out more.

Yes yes yeasss....... I love the idea of the combined ETs. Cool. Quaker is a long way from me, but I'd like to attend and participate.

500 miles one way........ Road Trip!

Let's do this. I'd love to run the big road course.....
