Spring H-body show - probably not at Quaker City Raceway!!

Postby bill1978v8 » Wed Dec 27, 2006 12:55 pm

I finally got a call back from Quaker City and it's bad news. The track is going up for auction in February. If it sells as a track the new owners may keep it open but it's not likely. I have several different options that I'm exploring and if you have any suggestions, let me know. I had a great time at the three previous shows so I really want to make this happen.

Thanks,

Bill :(

Thanks,
They are both options as well as eight other places. I'm looking for a nice facility and a friendly crowd like we had at quaker city.

Bill,

Pittsburgh would be great, convienient to Ohio and Maryland. Western New York would be OK also since it is close for me, Marco and the "Great White North" crew, also Mark Campbell would probably not win the "long distance award" which would probably not hurt his feelings!

If you need anyone to do some investigation about Empire Dragway, I could take a ride over there and check it out.

Empire is located somewhat near the "Finger Lakes" of New York State and is just a few miles from Letchworth Park which is called the "Grand Canyon of the East".

But, Pittsburgh is "home" for me, not much further than Salem for the "Northerners" and has lots to offer for entertainment and refreshment! Can't say that for Empire and the local area near there. Plus Pittsburgh is only 4 1/2 hours from eastern PA, so we could attract more participants.

If I can help, let me know.

Sorry - Empire was renamed New York International Raceway Park a few years ago.

Yeah........ bring it a bit further south. TN is great for me

Does anyone know if the Virginia International Raceway has a dragstrip? I've watched a video of an in-car camera on the VIR road race track...... would love to do something like that!!!!!

Don't go too far south though, us in the Great White North already have a 5+ hour drive. Pitt would be good or closer, obviously, lol.
