Chattanooga H-body Meet & Drag Race ?

Postby vegafrog » Sat Feb 10, 2007 11:28 am

:?: Who would be willing to attend an event here in the South?
I'm currently negotiating with the local Dragstrip about hosting such an event, but would like some feedback from those interested. Would probably take place mid Spring or Summer.
Chattanooga is pretty much centrally located and the strip can be seen from the interstate! (I-75) with plenty of lodging and local attractions for the whole family.

Let me know

I'll try but don't know if Little Buddy is up to that far of a trip. The tranny was rebuilt 2 years ago but I got lots of slippage on the way to and from Stone Mountain last year. Need to add a trans cooler as the one in the radiator may not be working properly.

100 miles from me.

My baby girl got sick on our Florida trip so we didn't go to Disney. Maybe I can get my trans cooler and get it installed in the next few weeks since I now have a few extra dollars in my pocket!

Have you set a date yet?

Finally got a response from the track and they are very excited about helping us put this thing together here in Chattanooga! :D I have got to call them now and set up a time to iron out the details. I need all interested to help me figure out a date. The proposal we're looking at is a Saturday with a regular race at the track coinciding with our meet, along with T&T between rounds for those who want to run their cars. Naturally you would also be able to race in one of the bracket programs to run for the money if you so choose to. I am gonna look for some sponsors to help with possibly some plaques for different categories i.e. Peoples Choice, Longest Distance, etc. I know alot of us need a little time to get back on the road, but I would like to see this take place before really HOT weather too. A few details to consider, for those who would like to come on Friday (a day early) the track holds T&T on Friday nights w/no races $5 for spectators $20 to run. There is also a BIG cruise in at the local Wal-Mart on Friday nights!

May 25th & 26th, Friday night Test & Tune Saturday Show and Race if you like. Saturday afternoon we'll cruise over to the Chickamauga Battlefield which is only a few miles from the Dragstrip for a cruise thru the Battlefield. Afterwords we'll come back to Fort Oglethorpe to the C.A.R.S. cruise in beside the Sonic on Battlefield Pkwy.
Please let me know if your planning on coming asap!

Thanks Mark
