Northern Ohio H-body Meet?

Postby barebonesracecars » Thu Apr 26, 2007 6:29 pm

Anyone in the northern Ohio area have any ideas on where we could get the group back together this summer? I'm thinking about those of us that had been attending the former Quaker City meets, but of course everyone would be welcome.

Something informal? A park? Shopping Center parking lot? Someone could make up a sign...think of the strange looks and the "I had one of those" we'd get.

NE Ohio would be best (but not in Cleveland!) if we want to get the Canadian and New England boys back. NW Ohio might pull Michigan, Indiana, and maybe Chicago guys in.

Lordstown?

Any interest?

I'm interested but the schedule is filling up fast. What about someplace that has an amusement park?

If you wanted to bring your family and make a weekend out of it, then you're talking Sandusky.....Cedar Point. Best coasters in the country.

Where and when is all I need to know. You need Bryan's input on a date as his schedule is somewhat written in stone, especially this weekend. It wouldn't be the same without everybody there if possible.

Agreed.

I'd like to meet some new members too, but I've enjoyed seeing the 'Quaker City' group.

Would there be any interest if we just had a get together and not the use of a drag strip? There is a reather large car show and parts a rama at the Butler fair grounds. This is about an hour or so north of Pittsburgh PA. Not sure when it is.

I'd be interested too! I'm very disappointed about Quaker City. None of the other tracks are as friendly. There is a track in Erie PA that the owner has a monza. Not sure about the name. I'll help as much as I can but I'm very busy at work.

The track in Erie is called Luckyland,i'll try to find a link.

Sunday July 8th,Rock-n-Roll Capitol street machines and Hollywood Knights have Thompson rented.I'm sure we could make room for a couple of H-bodies?It's about an hour north of Quaker.
We could just meet at A&W in Boardman?
There is also a small park in Boardman or Mill Creek park also.
If you want to keep this in this area i could help set it up?

Cedar point would be cool, but we would all be riding rides instead of bench racing.

I figured he was talking about bringing the family over a couple of days...bench race one day, 'rail race' at 100 mph the next. :D

A park or something in Boardman would work for me. Just need enough room to get the trailer in there.

I don't think we necessarily need to be at a drag strip if one cannot be found.

I thought about that. I would be trailering mine, so I could even load the grill in the truck.
