A lot of fun!!!

Marco the owner of the red 79 Spyder built Monza's at the Lordstown plant in 79 & 80. He said that in every department through the plant he knows someone and can hook you up with all of them if you want to ask questions. I know Ron got his phone number (I spaced it). His job was to drop the engine/trans into the cars. They broke a lot of distributor caps until they took them off first. He also said the production floor was grooved out where the counter balance at the end of the trans would hit as the engine/trans hung there and the car went down the line. The way I understood it he would set the counter balance in the groove on the floor and just let the line drive the car over the engine/trans as he lowered it in. There might be a wealth of info there!

Thanks everyone for helping me out there finding my way around and getting my car on and off the trailer. It was a good H body fix the whole weekend. Great people/cars it was a blast! I'll post some more later I got to get the trailer back. Brian

Wow! Great pics and great videos. I loved looking at the low miles cars like Ron's Mirage and the Buick Skyhawk that Brian brought but the other cars were very well maintaned and looked great. Everyone was great to talk to and it always amazes me with the knowledge that these guys have about H-bodies. The racing was a blast too! Thanks to everyone that came for making it an incredible event.

Bill, love watching your car race! its totally wild to see it eat cars with twice the rubber under them for lunch!
You've discovered the magic power plant.

The show I attended was cool. Huge, and all sorts of very rare and unusual cars. But looks like I would have had a blast if I could have made it. I'm sort of glad I'm flat broke until thursday, so I can see that I really couldnt have attended.

Would have liked to chat with the guy that had stories from the plant! Thats got me cringing.

Glad everyone had a blast.

I'll try for the MonzaQue this year.

Another Quaker City Success!

What a great weekend... thanks to all that came out. You gentlemen are a great bunch of guys to share a drink with! It was a blast (as usual).

Have to say that despite the continued threat of rain throughout, it was actually the BEST weather I've experienced so far... the car loved the cooler air... i think i actually managed to knock one fill-up off the trip. Ron, the vid is awesome! Thanks for posting that.

Bill-- EXTRA SPECIAL THANX. You do a hell of a lot of work to get this organized, and we ALL benefit from these get-togethers.

Cheers, all. We'll see you next year.

A few new cars that haven't been around previous years, very cool. As much as it is great to see the same guys year after year, hooking up with others is always a treat (or it would have been had I been able to make it this time around).

And I missed the DL1, that hurts!!!!!!!

So Reid, did you actually drive the car this time? lol

Cool deal.
There must be more to that engine installation story, because there are specific instructions in the assembly manual given for the motor mount to frame pad install. You'd think that the motor mounts would have gotten messed up being tightened down while the tranny was dangling down. I definitely would like to pick this guys brain.
Ron, can you PM me the guys number?

It was a good day getting to meet everyone and seeing everybody enjoying thier Monza's. It made me remember why I always loved mine. I went home and stared at it a while. Maybe that's why I don't seem to get much done. First time I opened the hood since last fall. I'll have it at the Quaker City meet next year somehow. I'll post some pictures when I can get one of the kids to help me. (that seems easier than learning I guess) The event pictures posted have been very good, I'll have to look mine over and see if I have anything worth adding. Anyway, I'm trying to locate my Body Plate so I can get my paint code. My car is Aqua Blue Metalic. Also, I was going to write down the guy's number that was from Lordstown but I didn't do it either. If no one did, I think it was in one of the car traders I have laying around. Once again the event was a lot of fun and it is a great group of people. I may have to get a room in Salem next year even though I only have a 1/2 hour drive. I missed 1/2 the fun by only going to the event.
