Yeah, I'm certainly hoping for the same, less heat. I assumed Tim would be there, he hasn't missed one yet and he always lets me know closer to the last minute anyways. He's nothing if not consistant. Thanks for the heads-up, Good to hear we'll see him again this year though!!
Cheers!

Nice to meet you Deano, and we'll meet in person in a couple weeks. There is a spot reserved for your tent and Monza :)

That would make 14 confirmations ... so far ... and Rob is a distinct possibility to be #15. His green '75 Monza is in the paint shop as I type.

15 would hammer a record from 2 years back when we had 11 cars and 2-3 others without cars present.

Ok guys, just want to confirm my route, based on your recommendations:

Port Huron to London (402)
London to Mississauga (401)
407 around north side of Toronto to Brougham
Winchester / Concession Road 7 to 115
115 south to 401
401 to 30
30 through Codrington to Goodfellow Road
follow Goodfellow past sharp left curve
MonzaQue:

Couple of Questions:
1. How far from the curve on Goodfellow is your place? Will you have a sign or something out?
2. Do you recommend I follow Concession 7 all the way to 115, or is there a shorter way I can start working south and east earlier than that to get back to 115 / 401?

Thanks!
Reid

That looks about right Reid.

I'm about 2 miles from highway (County Rd.) 30, less than a quarter mile after the left curve. My house (#655 - century farm home with 2 barns) is the only property on the right side after the curve and the house is really close to the road, not farther back or hidden like a lot of the other homes.

This year there will be a sign that makes it obvious that it is our location, you won't miss it.

I would stay on concession 7 to the 115, just for ease sakes. Your really not that far north of the 401 by the time you hit the 115 (10-15 mins. maybe).

Hey Bill, not sure which way I'm going yet...

I'd like to make the event something I can blog about..."Chevy Monza circumnavigates Lake Ontario"

I'm considering entering through Niagara fall's, early in the AM. Maybe about 7 or so AM to avoid traffic, and mid day heat.
That would leave me with 5 or 6 hours available for an easy breezy 4 hour trip,
or a fast trip (depending on traffic flow) with a few cool-down pit-stops. Bearing in mind that any traffic infractions in Ontario DO transfer over to NY. 8)

Then on the way home, I'll take the Thousand islands way back..and maybe convoy at that time.

Bryan, Will Paul be showing up with his red spyder?

Marco
I would advise against going through Niagara Falls and then thru Toronto. This is a long weekend for us and traffic heading east out of TO will be stopped, Friday aft/eve is worst but Sat AM is nearly as bad. Your call, obviously, but your trip here could be longer than you envision as I'm sure the other Southern Ontario folk can tell you from year's past.

Bill and Mark leave early Sunday morning, hope your an early bird. :)

Unfortunately Paul won't be here, barring a last second cancellation of his other plans, which is doubtful.

marco if you look at the route reid is using above your best bet is get up to the 401 asap and catch the 407 toll route over to 7. tim lives close there and i and hopefully ron with his sunbird will be meeting up with him at his house and doing the convoy thing from there to bryans bring a gps and meet at tims we know the route from there np and better to travel in a group in case anyone has trouble along the way. you probably be ok! wait!(i just got a call from ron as i was typing this post) to come up the qew and ron says the 407 joins up with it now he uses the route all the time he says. pm him and get the particulars. he also wasnt shure how far east you are from niagra and thinks you might be better to go to gananoqway, thousand islands south of the lake then come back west in canada to the cutoff for bryans road on the 401 check the maps and figure your best route and as bryan said it will be a long weekend here and the cottage traffic is usually brutal on the 401 heading east of toronto. one other option would be to take the qew to toronto(traffic shouldent be too bad coming to the city from niagra im thinking) the qew becomes the gardener expressway in missagua follow it right to the end and meet me at my place, we can head to tims from here. ill try to figure out what time tim plans leaving his house. as said before bring a gps and i can pm you my address beforehand. im maybe 15 mins or so from the end of the gardener and not hard to find here or i can just tell you the streets to take to get here, we can figure something out if you want. fred. p.s. ron is calling me at work tomorrow(friday) so i can hear his new motor firing up for the first time! he is really stoked about it lol!   ha ha! sorry if its a bit mixed up im tired its one in the morning and i need sleep bad lol! signed off.

Marco; great to hear that your planning to attend this year! If I may, with where you reside, you can access an easy route cross country to the east and wind up at I-81 N. to the 1000 islands bridge crossing at Gananoque. This would certainly be your most sensible route and even if the mileage were longer which i doubt, it would be quicker for you. And like Bryan mentioned, you should try to avoid Toronto if possible but if you do decide to cross at Queenston/Lewiston anyway, when you get to the other side of the Burlinton Skyway, stay in the far left or second lanes to drive straight through to the 407 which will bypass a lot of aggrevation, besides, they won't send you a bill! lol Good Luck and hope to see everyone there this year!! Purple Spyder, wow, you shocked the crapp out of me when Fred said you would try to attend, good luck and hope it works for ya!
