This summer's 13th Annual MonzaQue (in Codrington, Ontario, Canada) will be ...

Saturday, August 4, which up here is the Civic Holiday Weekend.

As usual, food, water and pop will be provided, but BYOB and tent.

ALL GM H-Bodies (Vega, Astre, Monza, Sunbird, Starfire & Skyhawk) are more than welcome, not just Monzas as the name might imply.

Basically anyone can show up anytime after noon and we go well into the evening and night.

Accommodations include ... free camping on my property (I have the room) for those interested in saving a buck or 2 and not wanting to worry about driving after a few 'pops'.
There are a couple small motels in town (Brighton) and in Trenton that are decent and inexpensive as well.

Let me know whenever you can if you plan on attending so we have enough to eat for everyone.

My website has the flyer and a map to our property ... http://monza.homestead.com/meets.html

Yet again, Thanks to Dave for some creative artwork for this years' flyer.

I'll be standing next to Nick maybe with a picture and my plate! Nick challenge issued! Yes Bryan, Franca and I are well underway to having "all our ducks in a row" for attendance, Room secured, both vacation forms submitted and one actually returned approved, one verbal(ish) approval [Actual Approval now]. Now for the mad dash to fix up the daily drivers so at least one old heap will make the trip, and another money tossing party to try and make the Monza somewhat presentable for my public humiliation [She's a 10/10 looks like a 10(7.5  ) from 10(++++) yards]. The H-Body Gods just aren't feeling it towards my Baby! So off to Rock Auto.com "Some of the parts my car might someday need" Harry

I'm number crunching the 13th Annual MonzaQue and it is shaping up to be a good year. On the low end a dozen cars, high end could be over 15, smashing 2011's record of 11 cars. My food bill could be on the increase (but well worth it)

Just looking for some input into my sanity...is it crazy of me to even consider coming to Monzaque? I have the time off and no commitments here but it's 30 hours drive one way. Mrs. Monzacoupe says I should go as far as I can until the car breaks down(if it does) and get it out of my system. What do you guys think?

Rick

That's hardcore. Obviously your call, but that's some serious driving for a small gettogether and BBQ. It would be nice to have even 1 more H-Body but that's some serious commitment. Someone else tried that trip a few summers back (I think he was in Alberta), broke down in northern ON I think, we never heard from him again until I happened to see him selling his monza (that broke down) on facebook earlier this year.

Oddly enough I had given some thought about attending Monzaque once I get my car together but that is one hell of a long way to drive, for me it would be clocking up something like 45 hours each way. There was talk of trying to get gathering together in Seattle, Wash, but that seems to have died out least for now.

Well, I'm honoured that you guys, from so far away, are even giving attending the MonzaQue a remote thought. Mark Campbell drives the 9 hours almost every year, but that certainly pales in comparison to 30 and 45 hours. ;)

Rick and 79' you both shouldn't be too bad coming from the north as you don't have to go through Toronto traffic on a long holiday weekend, I can attest that almost/has more than doubles the MapQuest estimation of time. 8 hrs is my best time for ~530Km and I was once ~6 1/2 hrs. or more from Milton to the far side of T.O. [~100Km] slow wouldn't be accurate as more of it was STOPPED! when I get some time and money together at the same time to work on making my Pipe Dream [Monza] happen I will leave on the Thursday and hope for less traffic probably with an alternate route around that mess. That is still a BIG commitment for either of you, if I did that I would try and caravan if possible, you two and get Ron [or any others you can coax in to joining the "ADVENTURE"] to join in, safety in numbers you know for whatever year you can all make it! there! I don't know if you would have any other foreseeable traffic situations on you planned route, and I don't know if either of you have working A/C or not and how much of a necessity that would be this time of year, up there, and these are small cars with NO trunk space, No cup holders, or cruise control all of which was the norm back when these were newer cars, but we has become spoiled now, I know my Sissy @$$ wouldn't be happy with any of that now, but I still want to try and do the HotRod power tour [I have A/C in my car and I have a cruise control for it as well, the rest will be "Roughing It"] I better hurry the older I get the bigger a Sissy, I get to be [and we started out pretty pansy to begin with! ] :th: :D I hope to see you Harry
