Last Sunday I was an exhibitor at the Eyes On Design car show http://www.eyesondesign.org/carshow/ . This an invitation only event with a $25 admission fee for spectators. I was grouped with cars from 1974-1979 called Graphic Muscle. I won a plaque, met Ken Lingenfelter and had a marvelous time. The venue was right on the shores of Lake St. Clair.

Ron you were in the "'Hood" and you never told us! That is maybe 25 [+/-] minutes from my house. I would have loved to have checked those cars out, some nice looking ones in your pic's. That Buick Century Pace car, if that is the one ['78+/-?] GM built that 3.8L V6 to the point I was told by a close friend who was at GMI at the time that it was pulling away from the Indy Cars coming out of the corners! Such a sensation that all the Drivers wanted a turn [could you tell A.J. Foyt NO?] and come race day both [there is always a spare waiting to go if something goes wrong] were well over their 10.000 mile life expectancy, some big shots were really sweating bullets come race day. I would have loved to come check that out! I guess I'm not hanging out in the right places never even heard about it. let us know for next time Please! Harry

That is probably the best description of mid to late '70s "performance cars".

In the Crossfire forum, I read where Mr. Stoddard? was invited to bring his concept Crossfire and his daily driver Chrysler Crossfire to that show. I believe he was the chief designer of that bodystyle built on the Mercedes R170 chassis with the AMG supercharged V6. That concept car had been to that show in the past before the Crossfire was produced....Crossfire nut here..I have 3, 2 SRT-6's and a non-supercharged convertible with 43k on the odometer....No, the Vega will never drive or handle like the Xfire...a pity indeed...Peace
