Axle backing plate spacers?

Postby v8astregt » Wed Jul 11, 2007 2:29 am

I'm asking this for a buddy of mine who doesn't have the internet. Anyways, he has a standard GM 12-bolt for his 70 Camaro. He removed the standard drum brakes and discovered that the discs off of the rear of a 98-up Camaro bolt right on. The only thing that needs to be changed is that the caliper mounting bracket needs to be spaced away from the rearend by like 1/8-1/4". Does someone make a spacer for this?

No, but I'm very interested because I have a 12 bolt in my Vega!
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.
