I think the center section would get in the way of the upper control arm mounts on early cars.

That is a big rear end. I would think it would be too heavy.

If you can make it work, I say run it. I'm not sure how you would hook up the t. arm though. These cars are nose heavy anyway. Might balance it out a little. It would look awesome under there. 8)

It's a bit overkill but it'd likely never break. You could clean it up and sell it to fund a different rear like a Ford 8" or something... Just something to think about. On the weight distribution, I'm not sure it will change the rolling weight distribution... Sprung vs. Unsprung weight. I'm not sure how exactly that works...

Just in case, I'll go see what I can find out...

Nic brings up a good point. A Dana 60 rear may be worth more to a Mopar guy or an old school racer . I had one in my 68 Chevy II/ Nova drag car , it was built in the mid 70's.

Anyway a Ford 9" would probably fit better and they take less power to move than a Dana 60. You could sell the Dana 60 and then invest in a new Ford 9".

Having said that , Dana 60s were used in v8 vegas in the 70s , as were Olds rear ends and 8 3/4 Mopar rears --- so it can be done .
