TH350 Mount

Postby Spooky » Wed Aug 22, 2007 11:33 am

Trying to install a TH 350 in my 77 Monza. It originally came with a TH200. The original mount looks unusual because the bolt spread, distance between centers, where the mount bolts to the cross member looks to be the same distance as the transmission bolt holes, and the bottom is staggered to the rear. I had planned on using the poly Energy Suspension mounts, but the bolt hole do not match the cross member. Anyone have simular problem? Thanks. Ron

Does your poly mount have a center hole? There should be a center hole in the crossmember. That's all I used. The energy suspension mount should have a curved side that goes to the rear and then the center bolt hole is near the front of the center crossmember hole. I used a big washer also.

Yes the mount has a center threaded hole, with two others one on each side. I will have to drill the cross member in the center to match. There is an access hole provided for the center, just no hole. Thanks for the input. Ron.

Ron,

On my Mirage the tranny crossmember has 3 holes. (See the extremely dark and ugly picture)

Maybe look for another crossmember???
