Hey, are all H-body clutch forks the same? Specifically vega 4 cylinder vs. V8/iron duke vs.V6. I think I have more v8 bell housings than forks. I know where there are some parts cars, but not sure what will work.

All H body clutch forks are the same, 4 cylinder through V8.

Thanks Clyde. Thats good to know, as you often see V8 bells for sale without forks. I should probably grab a few extra forks if I get the chance.

Anybody know the GM part # on the clutch fork and appropriate cable? Possibly clutch parts as well? I have managed to find a bell 1249599 and 78 flywheel 1257034 for H-body 231 V6. Got the bell and it appears right. The 78 v6 flywheel 1257034 shows as a 78 only. 79-80 shows 22501865. Not sure what this means to my 84 engine. May have the matching H starter 10496870 coming as well, the yard just hadn't located yet today. My motor is an 84 231 this is the closest I could find, they didn't make stick flywheeled 231's in 84. Planning on fuel injection conversion to the carb 231/3.8 then maybe turbo later. Woo-pah :)

yeah any info on what goes on inside the bellhousing would be great, I just aquired a v8 belhousing, I have the clutch cable , pedals, 2 different 4 speeds from h body cars . I was just actually looking at the belhousing thinking I'm gonna need a clutch fork of some sort I think. from what I gather here 10.5 inch is the biggest I can go with the clutch. also I'll need a different deal than what the tourque convertor bolts to on the motor as well ? my swap won't happen soon but I would like to get any other part's i may need to do it. thanx
