You need s-10 spindles rotors calipers pads all from a 2 wd drive s-10 - Then you will need the Bob Gumm ball joint adapters OR you will need to modify the ball joint pockets on the stock monza upper control arms to fit s-10 ball joints. I am pretty sure you will need to get different brake hoses from the calipers also.

With the Bob Gumm adapter method expect to have some negative caster where the top of the wheel fall inward. It is not terrible but most align shops will not be able to get it dead on ... Jim

Does anyone know why the 26 spline s10 axle wont work in the 71-73 vega 6.5 rearend? I understand why the differential from the s10 wont work, but if both axles have the same spline count, and are the same length, I don't see any issues

I do not have a verified response for you but a possibility. I don't think the backing plates have enough offset to use the deeper S10 brake drums. I guess you could have the stock ones re-drilled. I don't know of anyone that has attempted to make this mod.

That is because 6.5 10 bolt rears only have 23 spline carrier. YOU can not use 6.5 rears period.
Only thing you can use is the brackets off the 6.5 rear and transfer them to another larger diff.
