The big gears cant enjoy as motor is reving so hard. over revs buick motors, and must leave due to rare car the roadhawk is. restore to original, but want to cruise and hit bigger meets. Hoping for good milage gears, not really drag posi but is great thought too.

Are you still planning on buying or change your mind or did Jim steal the order from me?

Well IT IS STARTED AND RUNNING... SO FAR.... I am not sure about the 20 minute break in though... JUST seems like a long time to run as WE do not break rear diff gears in like that. We do 5 min shake down run then 10 min. run total cool down another 10 min run total cool down and the more you can get in and cool down the better the gear Rockwell on the teeth face.

NOW when I did not ever break in a Hydraulic cam just did initial start up 2 minute run and lightly adjusted the valves. Then cool down. After that I ran it till again I adjusted every valve to cackle stop cackle then 1/4 turn... all done slow turn as not to knock out the motor while running. took about 5-7 minutes suit it down. total cool down again...Then whet and did AGAIN a readjust every valve engine running turn out till cackle tighten till cackle was gone then 1/4 turn. THAT IS IT. DONE. NEVER had a failure in 20-30 cams ??? LUCK? Doughtful.

Anyway so far we are good no leak no issues. :D Good weekend so far.

Sorry if this is out of Subject matter.

take care, Jim

I actually have 2 good complete sets of used Monza highway gears w/open carriers still in their axles;

1) 2.73 set out of a 78 V-6 automatic car

& 1) 2.56 set out of a 75 V-8 automatic car

And I'd like to try a set of 3.42's (or 3.23's for that matter) if the original poster wanted to swap.
