Silly question LS 4.8 with the saginaw....lol

Postby 72vega5.3 » Sun Sep 23, 2012 2:28 pm

I know its crazy, but would the original 73 saginaw bolt up to the 4.8 for the time being, till I can scrape the funds up for a nice 200 4r?
I wont be hammering this thing at all. I really need it to be mobile

the LS motors use the same basic belhousing pattern as all chevy V8's , there is 1 bolt you will need to leave out on the pass side

just make sure the flywheel and clutch stuff all fit properly

The clutch and flywheel is where the stuff does not inter change.the crank on the ls motor is either shorter or longer I can't remember which. There is a post on here about this and the solutions but $ are always involved.

Im revisiting this post.
Question is: Can I just get a clutch kit with flywheel off ebay for the LS, and be good to go using the monza bellhousing with the stock saginaw. Is there a spacing issue with the later 2007 4.8? I also have a 2000 5.3
