Hydraulic Throwout Bearing

Postby 76wagon » Mon Jan 14, 2013 1:23 pm

My car has a 350 with a Camaro T5 trans. I'm using the hydraulic slave and clutch fork from the Camaro, which puts the slave right where my drivers side header wants to go. I figure that a hydraulic throwout bearing would solve my clearance problems, plus I'll be one step closer to putting in that T56 I want

Has anyone gone with a hydraulic throwout bearing setup? Which one did you use, how well does it work, etc. I've seen 350/T5 kits but they're kinda pricey, I'm hoping I can get a regular one for some car that I can make work. Hopefully I can save some cash that way.

Any input is greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Phill

Im not familiar with the T5 setup but it looks the same as the hydraulic system on the lt1 t56 that I am familiar with. On my vega I installed a muncie 4 speed and had pretty good success with a quarter master hydraulic bearing. here is a website that fully shows the installation http://forum.streetlegaltv.com/showthread.php?t=2596. They also have various different types on their website http://www.quartermasterusa.com/qm/components/bearings.html
Not sure if this would work on your setup, but good luck.
