buick 350 in a monza.. Which bell & flywheel

Postby 72vega5.3 » Wed May 29, 2013 7:34 pm

Motor is a 76 buick 350, I have a saginaw for the swap. Does it matter if I use a 70 flywheel on the 76. Any balance issues? Also which bell should I look for. Will a V6 bell do?

Flywheel will work as long as you're swapping Buick 350 with a Buick 350. Don't use the V-6 FW on a V-8. V-6 BH has the same bolt pattern/starter location as the Buick 350. But I think the diameter is too large to use with the H-Body BH. Saginaw pattern BH is different than the BW T-50 BH. Remember the H-Body is cable actuated clutch and everything else is rod type linkage. Maybe someone else will chime in on what FW to use with the H-Body BH.

You will need a BOP bell housing with the fork at the 8 0'Clock position if using the H-Body cable and clutch set up.

In an earlier post where a guy put a Buick 350 in an h-body, if I remember correctly he had to "adjust" his starter location to accomadate the larger flywheel.
