axle bearing help please

Postby utah vega » Sun Jun 30, 2013 1:36 am

My car has a 12 bolt rear end in it but seems to have ford 9 inch bearings and carriers welded on the end of the 12 bolt housings. Well one of the bearings was leaking pretty good so I want to replace it but not sure on the bearing... most the bearings I see for the 9 inch are a rw508ed or something and the bearing that came off my axle is a rw507e so I'm a little confused! Do I try to track down a 507 and a ring to press on there or just get a kit with a 508 and the ring? That is guys

Currie or Moser should have them with the oring, grooved bearing and the ring, you should be able to match it by the inner and outer dia.

That's what I have in my Vega. My axle came from Strange Engineering, which is where I bought replacement bearings. Currie and Moser can supply bearings, also.
