measuring driveshaft angle horizontally

Postby drhollywood55 » Wed Oct 02, 2013 10:08 am

Hello everyone, Has anyone successfully measured their driveshaft angle in the horizontal plane of reference? The reason I ask is I have measured and corrected mine with respect to the vertical plane of reference and still have a strange vibration in high gear in the 2000's RPM range. Also both trans rear seal and pinion seal keep leaking dispite repeated replacement. I would appreciate any input anyone might have on this situation, especially from Jim at JD Race because I have your rear in the car. Thanks, Russ.

if you do this as the link provides and still have a vibration, I would remove the driveshaft and have it checked as it may have the yolks out of plane, youll need to have it checked at a driveline shop(lathe that can spin it). I had this 1 time and whoever built the driveshaft didnt get it right when they welded the ends.
