hey guys,
quick post b-4 work,
art, my dipstick/tube assy. is from the stock auto. trans. that came with the car.
maybe different than TH 350 ?
the fluid seemed to have saturated the pan gasket, and then leaked out @ pan.
have new pan and gasket installed, but would like to install at least one check valve b-4 firing.
I'll keep you posted.
thanx 4 replies so far,

been thinkin on the over full issue, I have seen no foaming of the fluid, and when I lose enough from leakage.the trans will slip a little bit.
Art, believe it or not, that converter is not too bad on the street.
has a 3000 to 3200 stall speed, but I can drive around town, and not have to mash the throttle at a red light to take off again.
after installing the converter last winter, I did not see any significant leakage until mid-summer. seemed to occur all of a sudden one day.
maybe it took that long to saturate the gasket material? IDK
not a thick cork gasket, but a thinner material that feels fibrous in nature.
not sure what you'd call it, but it is NOT a paper gasket either.

A friend is donating a residual valve that is designed for hydraulic fluid, opens @ 5 PSI. and flows 15 GPM.
is that going to be too restrictive?
I can find no info on line pressure, or max. flow rate for a TH 350 online.
anyone ?
