It's basically an updated version of the T56, there are a number of us running T56's in H-bodies.

Cheers,

Yes, its a factory t56 magnum, with a different tailhousing, shifter arraignment and output yoke, I was curious if anyone had installed to see if it could all work, or it needed the tailhousing and output changed.

I have been looking at this myself. the external shift linkage will not work but a shifter is available that directly bolts to the case, A t56 would require the internal shift rod to by modified to add the shifter pivot in the inspection port at the top of the transmission. the tr6060 already has this modification and the shifter bolts directly tot he transmission. I found a picture of grandam75's ls1 vega swap and the inspection port appears to be very close to the original shifter hole in the tunnel. Minor relocation of the engine/trans looks like it would allow the shifter to line up with the original hole in the tunnel.

the tr6060 does not have a mechanical speedometer output. If you don't mind cutting up your dash a electronic aftermarket speedometer could be used or the stock speedometer could be modified ( you still have to cut out area or dash behind speedometer). The t56 tailshaft can be modified to add a mechanical speedometer output. but the stubby tr6060 tailshaft cannot. dakota digital has the ecd-100 electronic to mechanical converter which would allow the use of the stock speedometer.

The driveshaft tr6060 was originally 2 piece. and attaches to the transmission with a 3 bolt flange. There is no slip yoke at the transmission output. The driveshaft shop has a one piece driveshaft with a cv joint.

A custom crossmember is needed.

unless you are bolting this to an ls engine an adapter bellhousing is going to be needed.

a hydraulic clutch is going to be needed.

unless you are getting the tr6060 for cheap the aftermarket t56 magnum seems like a better choice.
multiple shifter locations, mechanical and electronic speedometer outputs, standard slip yoke for driveshaft.

other options are modified t45s by keisler ( if they ever get this in production) , or the t45 source and modified tr3650 transmissions from gforce, astro performance or hanlon motorsports.

Monza, i'm running a ls engine, hydraulic clutch, my speedo will be electronic(racepak) I started looking at the tr6060, because my build will make more then what a stock t56 can hold. Ive read you can put the t56 tailhousing and output shaft in the tr6060, And that would be cheaper then buying a new magnum if I shop around for the parts.
