Vega clutch pedal plastic pulley bracket bent or wonderful?

Postby robert123 » Sat Mar 01, 2014 5:05 am

Hi, have a stock 73 Vega hatch, rusty, under dash area.
The car came this way with lots of rust and a broken clutch cable.

It's kind of hard to tell from the pic but I believe that looks normal. You can kind of check by looking at the top of the pulley and see if it lines up with the hole in the firewall. The cable should come off the top of the pulley and go through the firewall so it should pretty much line up. Check out this topic, scroll through the entire thread and there are pics of my pedal assembly when I rebuilt it. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25664&hilit=clutch

Robert,

That's the way it's supposed to be. If you hang the pedals you'll notice that it will bridge the offset between the hole in the firewall and the pin on the pedal.
