Well I finally got around to pulling the tranny out of the cosworth today to find why I had problems shifting to 4th. The syc hub keys on the forth gear side broke the tabs off. No problem I thought. Well then I took out the idler shaft to check the needle brgs and found the gear had worn the thrust washer and spacer away no problem it comes in the small parts kit but then I found the case boss had been worn away. big trouble. Now it looks like im going to have to find another case. If anyone has one sitting around let me know.
Thanks
Ted

Is there any difference from a 3speed case to a 4 speed gear case? I think I remember there was no difference in the cases only in the gears.

Well its all back together now. The Cosworth drives and shifts like it should. After a neused case and sycronizers and about 30 more different parts things came together and im back on the road. Now for my 77 vega im thinking V8 and a 700R I have a trans am rear end with disc brakes im debating on but I don't know yet. Any one here use that rear end?
