Hi all! I'm new here so forgive me if I post questions that have already been answered. I'm working on swapping a 327 with an early powerglide. I'm using the kit from TransDapt for the swap.

Problem #1: can I swap the tailshaft out of the original th350 transmission into my powerglide? Or what vehicle would have the 16 spline slip yoke?

Problem #2: I'm having difficulty with the left engine mount interfering with the steering box. Has anyone used this kit from transdapt?

Problem #3: is A/C possible?

Problem #4: rear end...............

Edit: the car is a 1973 chevy Vega with factory ac

early 1960's Chevy's used the 16 spline yoke.
is your original TH350 still usable ?

What year and model is your car ?
does it have manual or power steering ?
does it have factory AC ?

Tailshafts housings are not interchangeable between Powerglide and TH-350. When you say "early Powerglide" are you referring to the cast iron case 50's ones? I presume not. All aluminum 'Glides are actually "later" style. Not the best trans choice for a street car, as they require a loose converter and steep rear gears to feel even the least bit "sporty".
Virtually indestructible and the #1 choice by a wide margin at the drag strip(I won't use anything else), but no fun for just cruisin'.
Also, you didn't tell us what year H-body you're building; makes it hard to make recommendations for a rear end. If you asked about swapping tailshafts, I would assume it's a 76-up torque arm car.

1973 chevy vega, manual steering, factory ac.
Yes the original th350 is usable. The reason I'm not using it is it has a different bell housing.

Yes it's a 61 or 62 aluminum powerglide. Again it's a 73 vega. It will be a drag car but I want to be able to comfortably drive to the track. I won't be daily driving it.

For a 73
You can get a bolt in 9 inch Ford rear end from Autoweld Chassis
if it is going to be a race car you may want to go ahead and backhalve it.
Vintage Air is the best option for AC, the whole unit goes behind the firewall.
You should have a new driveshaft made with HD u-joints and balanced for what ever trans you end up with.
I would use a TH350 if any street driving is in the plan.
