I was no where near that kind of power but my 96 WS6 ran low 12's for years before I sold it. I ran 1.7x short times all the time with drag radials, 4.10 gears and a M6. Never once had a problem with it. I didn't have to do bonzai launches to get it to hook, just "drove" it out.
