I am a Die Hard Castrol guy so here is a link to there US page for Diff oils. http://www.castrol.com/en_us/united-sta ... l-oil.html You should be good with any name brand including AC/Delco/GM's brand. Your manual will cover how much. or use your favourite gear oil and a "Modifier" http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=41&pcid=4 [all the major brands carry some version of this, as well as the chains O'Rielly's AutoZone etc.] Harry

The Auburn is a spring/clutch assembly where the Truetrac is all gears. With that said for longevity the Truetrac would be the better choice.

Some people don't like the locking unlocking action of the Truetac verses the Auburn.

I personally just put a Zexel Torsen posi unit in my Vega which is what came in some year Camaro's from the factory.

The True Trac and Torsen would not require any special additive to the diff fluid due to them being gear lockers rather than clutch locker.

I think you may be confusing the TruTrac with the Locker. I have a TruTrac in my pickup and there is no locking/unlocking action. The TruTrac is similar to the Torsen.

You don't want a locker for a daily driven street car. A Auburn style with the traditional clutch packs would be good or a TruTrac. I have heard of a "gov lock" style used in some GM OEM vehicles and I have heard people shy away from that style, not sure if that is similar to the TruTrac?
The limited slip additive sold by GM is a friction modifier used to reduce or eliminate clutch chatter around turns. If you are not experiencing that issue you don't need it, it basically makes the lubricant more slippery so use it if you need it to correct a problem.

I had people tell me to get the truetrac over the Auburn... so where can I get a 26 spline 7.5 10 bolt truetrac for an 2.56 gear ratio?

Art,

I'm just using 75W140 synthetic gear lube, no additives.

I decided to go with the auburn because im a little more familiar on how the clutch disc setup works and it has a 4 year warranty on it.
