Alright I'm stupid and when double checking bolts i overtightened one and now it seems to be stripped, but I have no idea what its holding in, the hose it appears to hold tight goes down into the trans right under the 2 lines that go to the radiator. the vacuum line and modulater are back further on the trans. This thing has a hose or something that goes up over the trans the bolt i overtightened holds a plate which holds it in, anyone know what it is ? or does? any ideas on how to seal it now? Thanks, TJ

Kickdown cable.

I think it's held in by a 1/4-20 bolt. You should be able to find a slightly larger self tapping screw that will hold it in. Or get the hole real clean and put J-B Weld in there and run the bolt in flush. As long as the cable is in the hole, it's o-ring will seal it.

I was thinking along the same lines TJ, but a product I haven't seen in years came to mind first "Form a Thread", I thought this was a "Loctite" product, but easily could have been "Devcon" or some other brand. Repair_Kit. I would consider a Heli-Coil if you can access from the bottom for chip control, but that will still require some form of sealant to prevent drips. Harry

Thanks for the knowledge and advice guys, I really had no idea what that was I suppose I just assumed the kickdown cable went to the area where the shifter cable went. I'll end up using one of the solutions you 2 have posted I think.
