2004R Hard Parts Needed

I had some heavy duty parts picked out for my eventual 2004R tranny conversion and started saving my pennies and when almost there, the Canadian Dollar tanked to the American dollar, so I had to keep saving and selling to get there. Nothing unusual for this HotRod thing here in Canada. I make a sale of some parts and get a little cash influx destined for the "Monza Money Jar" so I go to Jake's Performance site and I get this: http://www.jakesperformance.com/200-4R_ ... _Tech.html So it is so, that the 2004R God doesn't do 2004R transmissions any more! So I call him and the woman that answers says "we don't do those anymore, eMail Jake and maybe he can Help" so I write out my story asking if he can source or direct me to a source of the parts he carried a few months earlier and get this real short reply back:
Jakes Performance.com(by eMail) wrote:We don't handle any 200-4R parts anymore.

So my question is does anybody here know where I can source the "Billet" input and output shafts and 1st drum like he used to offer. I can find "Hardened stock ones" but from what I have read they are at the "Ragged Edge" of my intended engine builds out put. Thanx for any help you may be able to give. :D Harry

Harry,
Wish I could help. You might try BowTie Overdrives down here in California. They have a pretty good reputation with a lot of people.

Good luck,

I was going to say Bowtie overdrives as well. Here's another shop that I've had dealings with and they seem pretty good www.monstertransmission.com/
I feel your pain with the exchange rate. I think the Aussie $ is about 72cents US at the moment

The best in the 200r4 game...................they build them to last behind 800+ torque big blocks and boosted / nos motors.

Thanx Guys I have looked at them and more here is a list of these players and the problems: Bowtie hardened stock parts, marginal over 350 horse [as decreed by GN racers] :( . :( Perf. Auto. Trans. Center, lists the same again, Gearstar No parts listed CK Perf. Trans. lists rebuilt stock parts again not really intended for longevity behind 425HP and a deviant driving! :shenanigans: Art Carr's CPT lists his parts in a way that doesn't specify construction/processes in a way I consider clear, but he is also considered a 2004R God so an eMail isn't out of order. I have read many "Blogs" and sites such as this: http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/transmi ... rebld.html many are now gone and fewer show up with every search! :bang: Doug your link to Extreme Tr. don't list 2004R's in their products, [that is the same with many places that did, as of now that trans has been out of production for nearly 20 years] I can send them an eMail too. Thanx Harry

Yes Rick I have Moster bookmarked but I didn't see the individual parts listed, so I kind of ignored them. My computer hard drive has died it is fixed now and I have to just reassemble it and some eMails will have to be sent. Thanx Guys I will keep you posted on the results! :th: Harry

CK Performance is pretty much the only real in-house manufacturer of the billet parts ever since Bruce at PTS Xtreme got sick and sold the business. Others sell Chris' billet parts or sell hardened. I have a couple cars that have twisted the splines on the hardened forward drum and have only used billet since then on all my performance builds. Extreme Automatics is a great place for the 2004R as well, as Lonnie was one of the first to push the envelope with Kevin Mallendar way back in the day.
