Need Help Identifying Output Shaft

Postby hammerdown7 » Sat May 20, 2017 4:38 pm

This main shaft has a 27 spline output, I have not been able to identify what transmission it is for. I was told a GM 5-speed but can't match it.

edit: This probably is an output shaft, not input, but I still have not been able to identify.

It looks to be correct with the proper spots for (left to right) 4th, 5th, 2nd, 3rd, Rev and 1st.

I have searched every transmission main shaft image I can find and haven't found one that looks like this one, quite a puzzle!

I just realized my post had almost 37.9% of the info missing that I wanted to post. I meant to say it almost looks like a T50 mainshaft and if you could take measurements from middle land right behind pilot to each gear surface, I could measure that against my T50 cluster gear I have.

No problem.
I also have a genuine GM T50 5th gear.

Even though it doesn't look like it the tape starts even with the end of the shaft.

Although I still am not able to identify what trans this is for, my description is wrong. Since this shaft does not have a pilot bearing extension on the spline end it is more than likely to be an output shaft. Does that stir any ideas?
