Picked this up tonight. Borg Warner Super T10. First piece I've bought for the car. Paid $600 and it came with what I think is a Hurst Ram Rod V Gate shifter. Pics of the Super T10 and my car below.

What engine are you putting behind it ?
How many grooves on the input shaft ?
Yes that is a ramrod shifter, are you going to use it ?

The T-10 can be made to fit, but will require some fabrication because it' doesn't have a torque arm mount cast into the tail shaft like a Saginaw. Also, that shifter will require some major surgery to the trans tunnel.

I had a V-gate shifter on a Muncie in the mid '70s. It was a blast to drive but was a little awkward for quick down shifts.
When you install the trans keep an eye open for interference with the shift rods. It seems to be a common problem with early GM cars (like my Nova  ).

Well I traded this to the guy who sold me the Vega for a Muncie 4-Speed. Hope it was the right call.

That T-10 should take a few hundred more lb/ft of torque than a Saginaw; whatever work it takes to install it should be worth the trouble. Plus it's lighter.

It was part of a package trade deal for a new-in-box 350 conversion kit for the Vega, 9" Ford complete, and the Muncie.

Just got home from picking the car up in -5 degree Illinois weather. Didn't end up trading the ST10. The Muncie had a busted gear. I did buy the 350 conversion kit for $100. Too cold to mess with the ford 9" too so I left it there.
